A “check” is one full analysis of a site (speed, SEO, security, accessibility). A “fix” is one time BeOnTop wrote something that was missing on a site — such as picture descriptions — with the owner’s permission. Competitors that someone watches do not count as “sites looked after”.
BeOnTop belongs to the aQua for All Foundation, a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 84-2236945). It is free for everyone and was made to bring in donations for clean drinking water for children who live in care.
BeOnTop never sees a payment: donations go straight to the Foundation. Its small running cost (mainly AI) is paid from the donations it brings in; if there are none, the Foundation’s president covers it personally. Everything else goes to water systems.
